because as a man being inside a woman is enjoyable. the idea of being inside a man just makes me feel awkward. that and cars curves remind me of a woman this is just my opinion of course. some people name muscle cars with male names because they have more masculine qualities. my two cents

Well whenever you go for a ride would you rather ride around in a bad ass guy named Steve, or would you rather go for a ride inside a bad ass chick named Madeline. Just my 2 cents I'd much rather go get a burrito while riding a Madeline than I would a Steve.

I have always thought of it in these terms (this is my own thinking no scientific proof behind it).
Cars that deserve names have always been ones with great lines, nice curves, something you just can't take your eyes off. For me a nice female body has nice curves, and is something you just can't take your eyes off. When you add muscle into the mix, then you bring along the attitude that you find in most women. Hence women's name for cars. Google why are cars named after women, there are some damn funny responses like: "Because their motors purr when well kept and maintained properly - just like a woman." "Because 0 to Bitch is faster than 0 to asshole" "Because they are great when you first get them, but they too become a problem over time." |

Both good examples. And y'all bring up another good topic as well: the equation of driving fast cars with a sexual experience. There does seem to be something inherently sexy about going fast.

I spend ALOT of time with my car and i spend ALOT of money on my car, the camaro is a beautiful machine so to me it has to be a woman. I named mine Sybil because she has beautiful curves and she has an unpredictable personality. She is sweet but can turn violent without warning.

"mean", "viscous", "nasty", are all female attributes.

My car was named Speedy, by a woman. I'm guessing that could be considered a Masculine name, not really a 'female' name. I liked the name, so it stayed.

My car doesnt have a name, but I do say "her" and "she". Dont really know why.
Saying "he" or "him" just seems really wierd and awkward over saying her or it. I could see naming the car like "The red dragon" (will ferrel old school), or something like that, but a persons name is just strange. This wierd older lady at my work referred to her car as Izzy, and it was the dumbest thing every time she did it. "Izzy needs an oil change" |
