I have them on my '06 Stang GT and I don't care for them...the driver and passenger door windows drop about an inch when opening the door and then go back up when you close the door (giving supposedly a perfect seal)...unfortunately in the cold months (with ice, snow, etc.) they have a tendency to "stick" and then you'll struggle opening your door or if your battery goes dead then you have to pull very hard to open your door and hope that you don't ruin the glass...(then closing the door is even worse if you haven't fixed the problem of indexing)...it's just another gimmick that is prone to not working right.

I had this feature on my BMW 330 convertible. I thought it was a great feature, especially with a soft top and the huge amounts of seals that the car had (no pillars...). I never had an issue with their behavior.
caveat - I garage my car, and we don't get tons of snow here (plenty of ice at times), so I can't say how they'd do in Buffalo (my hometown) in a January blizzard! |

But you can't say the windows for the Camaro are gonna stick in the winter.
If ice is on it, it's not the fault of the mechanisms that's on the ice. Get it off. |

It should be mucho reliable. The windows in my vette have this little ribbon that breaks. They got rid of that a while back.

Go to your local Chevy dealer and if they have a vette (I'm betting they do) ask to open then close a door and observe how the glass is seated in a channel in the weatherstrip and how the glass has to drop an inch or so so the door can be opened or closed. At very high speeds it really helps keep the glass nice and tight.
