Quick question. Dotting all my i's and crossing my t's ;P

Trying to mentally figure out how I want this wired. Can the interior footwell lighting be hooked up to the ambient control system (brightness and dash lights toggle) AND also maybe put in a switch in between? (If the footwell ever gets annoying being on 24/7, so I can just shut it off?)

Yes it can. I believe it is the purple wire in the door panel. Then just wire a switch between that and the light.

I'm not sure you would want to dim footwells if they are CCFL...you could damage the inverter. IF its LED its a different story tho...LED's can dim. And yes a switch can be done...you may also need a diode in there as well.

yeah, its LED. Thanks for the input. This is how Im going to wire it. Now I just have to see if someone has a DIY on it already on taking apart the wiring and how to install the switch. Another member posted the ambient lighting switch schematic, so that will help.

hardest part now I think is actually getting the console apart to get to the wires

some cars came with extra abl plugs .one is be hind the panel that covers the fuse panel on the drivers side .not sher all cars came with this plug thow.
