Looking at getting my car dyno'd.

I have one question.

I was looking at the dyno sticky and I was wondering why some cars say "3rd and 4th"

What is this about?

I believe 4th gear give a 1:1 ratio, but it seems both gears are pretty good. although, if you have a speed limiter at 118mph, you have to do it in 3rd.

actually 4th is 1:1 in the V8...5th gear is 1:1 in the V6, but it's just not practical to use that. 4th would be best, but depending on mods/model, you can't always do it in 4th either. When I first had mine dynode, I had it done in 3rd because I would hit the speed limiter in 4th way before I hit the redline..now with my tune, I'll have it done in 4th the next time I get it done
