intermodal vs automotive rail facility
So, just wondering, my car is now unloaded in Dolton, IL which is Union Pacific's intermodal facility. However, according to the sticky thread above and my dealer, my car should've been unloaded at an automotive facility (in my case Chicago Heights) What's the difference? Anybody know?

I had read all that, but it seems time gave me my answer. So basically, the train car will be at the intermodal location, until the car is unloaded (UP will call the trian car 'empty' once it's unloaded). Then the car gets moved to the automotive distribution location. Which in my case is Chicago Heights.

Intermodal is a shipping container terminal.
