Exhaust installation question

When cutting and welding exhaust pipes, did you or your shop disconnect the battery prior to welding? My concern is that the engine managment system and other electronic devices could be damaged when welding. Thanks.

My SLP exhaust header package came as a kit, no welding. The instructions had me disconnect the battery so by all means, do it.

Bump

I was wondering if anyone installed an axel back systems by themselves? I have the tools (sawzaw, etc) but no lift. Maybe I can get some ramps to do it myself...

It literally takes about five seconds to undo the positive terminal connections for your battery...better safe than sorry.
