You are correct. Not sure what Marketwatch is smoking. Post deleted.

Edit: Difference is in the YTD numbers vs. YoY. YTD + 22.6% Ford, YoY + 5%.

Silly marketwatch...

I just watch news at 5:00PM. Why did they say that Both GM and Ford are down 5% below what was expected? They seem to paint a picture that isn't as good.

People tend to take the speculation, that relies on the use of economical statistics of which refer to the past, of experts to be more than simply speculation. It provokes unneeded panic, which stems from man's want for the planning of virtually all aspects of matters that intervene in our lives.

Whats so difficult to understand? There was a prediction, and apparently it was 5% higher than the actual result.

Market analysts always predict what sales figures will look like prior to their release. Apparently they were off with GM and Ford.

I get that. Geezz, sorry I asked. All I was saying that the news seemed to paint a picture that wasn't that great, and I was looking for some of your input.

I'm not a goof. I've been in business for over 25 years and fully understand market forecasts.

For a bunch of sales charts, follow this link: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...results-94302/

You can also LOL at Toyota's inability to sell full size trucks/SUVs.

Ah, well in that case ...

Some newsies don't exactly like the domestic automakers. So instead of reporting something that makes them look good, they'll say something that makes them look bad.

Toyota is admittedly good at sedans and everyday cars, but they do fail when it comes trucks/SUVs. But why do they split the Tacoma into 4x2 and 4x4, but leave the Tundra alone?

Nobody's really good at full-sized trucks or SUV's like the big 3.
