Sorry but you can look at just about any car company and find plenty of people to write in horror stories. I do tend to find in my many conversations at car shows and such and just around town and talking to clients that the foreign auto makers have more respect as far as dependability but I personaly think it's just become popular to rag on the U.S. makers. Sad, very sad.

I was just discussing this with my wife this morning while watching CNN. GM vehicles are selling like hot cakes in foreign markets, but for some reason Americans have problems... buying American. I know domestic car companies; track record have been tarnished in the past, but it seems to me that there has been a growing sentiment in the country that it's popular to be un-American.

Well lets do one on the foreign makers.

How about the BMW318, no one like it.
The whole Yugo line.
The whole Hyundai line up until 10 years ago.
Infinites grill less front end.
Toyota's T100
The quality of all English made cars until the rest of the world bought the Manufacturing.
Sterling (1987–91)
Subaru SVX (1991–97)

Come on help me out!

How about every Ferrari made prior to the F355. Or every Lamborghini until Audi bought it.

You know the sad thing is I see more and more of recalls from Toyota and other foreign makes, while since about 2005 you never really see GM and Ford having any issues. I do agree that some cars from 1972 onward until 2000 from Detroit were not as good. I had a 1989 Dodge Spirit that fell apart after 89,000 miles, but I bet there were cars from the foreign makes that were quite on par either. I feel if they want the mass public of Americans to want to but american there gonna need to make some commercials like the did in the 1950's and 1960's that showcased american quality.

I loved the one person that went on bashing GM and how they were the worst company ever, etc. then went on to say that she bought a Saab and loves it so much, and will never buy another American car again. Only Saabs and other imports. LOL.
