Picked up Dec 21. 900 miles. The "Eau du Plastic" is as strong as ever.

Some people don't really like that "new car" smell. Here's a few suggestions for personalizing your own "new car" odor:

Smokers Paradise New Car Smell:
Smoke a lot of cigars, especially with the windows up. It helps to sprinkle the ashes liberally around the carpets.

Tailgaters Delight New Car Smell:
Fill cup holders with BBQ Sauce. Or dribble some down the defroster vents.

Beer Lovers New Car Smell:
Stashing a sixer of empty brewskis under the seats oughta do it.

Hospital Clean New Car Smell:
Wash down the interior with rubbing alcohol . A few latex gloves tossed around adds to the ambiance.

Ronald McDonalds New Car Smell:
Pack the glove box with Big Macs and shove a handful of fries under each seat.

GearHeads New Car Smell:
Smear some axle grease in a few inconspicuous nooks, and spray a little "Knock-Ers-Loose" under the dash.

Sixties Revival New Car Smell:
A coupla sticks of patchouli incense should take care of it - (unless you prefer the real thing, of course -- but that's another thread).

Eau de Cologne New Car Smell:
Offer to drive your great-aunt Edith home from all her beauty parlor appointments.

Had since 8/8 and still smells new. I do apply my Zaino car leather cleaner and softener every 2 weeks so I'm sure that helps.

Picked it up 12-09-09. 2691 miles on it, still has the "New Car" smell. Too bad this isn't bottled in a spray can, I'd buy some!!

I love the smell of a new car... it's all the plastic, glue and material...

My dad told me 20 years ago that they did a study, and that "new car smell" is worse than smoking a pack of cigarettes a day...

At least it was 20 years ago... doubt it's much better for you now.

I don't care though... I still love it.

I picked up mine on 6-25-09 and it has almost 6000 miles on her and still smells new. I found the secret is not eating or farting in the car.

Mine still has the new car smell. Bought it Jan. 23.

I used Adam's leather conditioner on the seats last week and it has a wonderful "good leather" smell to it.
