A 2010 SS with 9k miles on it? Retail on the lot, the dealership would probably list it around $32k, so I would expect to get around $23-$24k for it. Unfortunately, all those aftermarket mods actually help decrease the value of the vehicle, because they limit the customer base who would potentially buy, which means it'll likely sit on a lot longer, costing the dealer.

I suggest hitting up Kelly Blue Book and seeing what you could get.

And you're better off finding a hidden gem muscle car than going for a 'name' like the Camaro, Challenger, Mustang, Charger, etc. Good friend of mine found a near pristine '63 Monte Carlo for about $10k a couple years back. At $40k for a car that old, you're really only paying for the Camaro name more than anything else. Do a little research, find a classic that hasn't become a mainstream collector item, and you'll be able to hold onto both your current Camaro and obtain a relatively cheap but ridiculously nice classic muscle.

As an owner of a BB '69 and a '13 1LE, I would be careful with this trade unless you are looking for a very limited use vehicle. Granted, our '69 has a big stall (4500), big gears (4.56), 6 point bar and 13.5:1 compression so big money fuel is necessary, but even before all of that, it did not have the handling or comfort of the the newer car. I also think that $55K for what he has (and I am thinking it is not a matching number car) seems high for what he has. Just give it some thought.

I would probably drive the 69 about the same amount I drive the 10. 2500 miles year roughly. It does have 5 spd overdrive, ac and coil over shocks so should be a good driving car. Its built like a pro touring car.
These are my other cars, ya I have a bit of a Camaro fetish.

I would start negotiations at your car plus $15K. That assumes the guy with the 69 loves the 2010 $30K worth so you'd be getting the 69 for $45K.

The value of your car could be anywhere between low twenties to maybe thirty. But as has been mentioned, the mods... especially the cam, are going to greatly restrict the market. I personally would never even consider buying a cammed car, but someone else might view it as a plus. So it's a crapshoot.

Taking your word on the value of the 69 I would be willing to go up to your car plus $22K. That implies getting the 69 for $47K with your car valued at $25K... both of which I think are fair.

Good luck with the deal.

He will trade for $18,000 so that doesn't sound bad.

I guess one positive thing about the trade is the '69 is on the upswing, where the 2010 is only decreasing in value. OP, your Camaro's are great!

I'd trade your car plus $20k.

Based on what little I know about both cars, I'd take that deal. (After first trying to get him down to $15K )

Guy obviously likes your car.

Here is my $.02! The only 1st Gen Camaro's that I would even come close to paying that amount for, is an original Camaro SS or Z28. I appreciate the work and expense that someone puts into a car, but in value it doesn't mean that much. Original cars hold and increase in valve. A resto mod, only that person that wants that car, not a collector. Watch a car auction like Mecum and you will see awesome cars for a pretty cheap price. I sold my original '69 Z28 to order my current car. I only drove it about 500 fun filled miles a year. It got a lot of attention. Now my car is coming up on a year with almost 12K fun filled miles, still get a lot of attention, not that I'm looking for it. Do what's best for you and good luck!

OP, you obviolusly already have a ba first gen, why don't you just build one yourself, at your own pace and do it the way you want it. $18k plus what you originally paid for your car seems to be alot of change to me to get a first gen. I only say this because I want a big block Duster (my first muscle car as a youngster). I've looked and can get a shell for $600 and build it the way I want it. I just am not at that point right now. Good luck in whatever direction you decide to go.

Yes, OP does mean this. That's why he wrote "I think his is worth in the 45-47,000 range". (People just don't comprehend too well sometimes).

Anyway, OP... your car is beautiful and has some great mods. Unfortunately, the more mods you have the more you narrow your buyer's market. Also, you never get your money our of mods when it comes time to sell it. At least it's a Pace Car edition and you only have 9700 miles on it. That will help, more than the mods actually. I think if you get $30K - $32K for it you should JUMP on it. Gotta find just the right buyer though.

that car is priceless since they didn't make a Monte Carlo until 1969. I think it was released as a 1970 model.
