Maybe someone doesn't have 100k for an Z06 or prefers a Camaro.

You get a lot of the really good stuff for a bargain price compared to the Euro cars with track packs.

Using Porsche as an example carbon ceramic brakes are a $15k option on a car already north of $100k.

I am glad they built it even though I will never own one.
I think you missed this part of my post. FOR ME AND SPEAKING FOR ONLY ME.

I just drove mine in rain and didn't have any problems whatsoever!!!! Yes it was raining hard and I wasn't babying it at all. The tires aren't near as bad as everyone makes them out to be when in the rain. I can say that this car isn't for everyone, yes it's loud, no it doesn't ride like the ZL1 or 1LE that we previously had. But 1 thing for sure it can be daily driven!!! I love how everyone says this car can't be driven on a daily basis when they haven't even had 1 mile behind the wheel of it. No it's not for everyone but neither is the ZL1, my wife didn't like our ZL1 cause it always felt like it was about to get loose, I can say I drive the heck outta the Z/28 and it has yet to feel that way. She even drove it to work 1 day and said the same thing. So each of us has our preference and each has their own opinion and that's a good thing, cause I can drive my Z and enjoy it and everyone else can drive the car they have and enjoy it. That's the great thing about having more then 1 engine and suspension package, we can all find 1 we enjoy.

It shouldn't bother anyone. Chevy has been all over the map with their badging designations in the last 50 years.Top dog is strictly a matter of prospective. Top dog at what? Price? 1/4 mile? Road course? Creature comforts.

I never would have thought a name badge would create such discontent in this hobby.

One day I woke up to find three pine trees on it. The two feet of snow on the car reduced damage to a scratch on the hood, luckily the roof wasn't hit, it's a convertible.

Car weighs almost what a ZL1 weighs, but a little less, 3980 lbs. While it made a little less torque, my 510 lb/ft was much lower in the rev range making peak torque a constant occasion, the car has drum brakes on all four corners, no traction control except the gas pedal, no stability control except for the posi rear end. A new car with traction control, stabilitrac, snow tires, and peak torque in an easily avoidable section of the tach? Big deal. Not only did I never ht anything in the snow, I never got stuck in that car but once from 1989 to 2006, and that wasn't snow, it was an ice storm: AWD cars didn't go far either.
:O

Are you still that lucky?

I'd presume so of you've been around this long.

It's more jealous & envy than anything. I've owned 6 Camaro in the past. 5 of them were Z28s. This one being priced where it is, it is way out of my reach.

Had they made the 1LE the Z28, I'd be able to have my 6th Z28.

Oh well. I'll just have to settle for Z28 Clone. I'm thinking I'll by an SS add the Z28 suspension, splitter, & rear Spoiler. I'll probably add a super charger too while I'm at it.

The 1LE is the Z/28 lite. It's the perfect balance between race/car and price point.

Agreed!!!!!

I could of bought one (well if I lied to my wife and said it was an SS maybe ) but it's just a little too track focused for my use and my car will see winters.

I love all the Camaro's, the V-6 is a sick machine, the SS is awesome, the 1LE is a stunner in looks and handling, the ZL-1 is a boss, and the Z/28 harks back to the SCCA race days. Cool article on the OGriginal DZ302:

I am just me, but I prefer and covet naturally aspirated cars. I don't like blowers or turbo. So for my money the Z/28 is the top dog in Camaro land.

Pretty cool article. It's hard to imagine the cars today eclipse the cars of yesterday, hp numbers wise & emission friendly at that.

Especially when you think the base model comes with 323 hp.

The first Z28 came with an advertised 290 hp 302 cu in motor. Rumored to actually have 350 hp on tap, today's V6 is only 25 (barely feel it in the pants) hp shy.

Amazing.

So , and according to your numbers , today's cars are lees than the ones in 1977 ,and they now come with way more shit than ever before
This of course compared with the average income
