think about this, Skip shift was put in to HELP MPG, if it activated when the engine was down in the low power range where the engine was lugging it would HURT the MPG's, so Why would you think it lugs the engine when it skp shifts?

Canadian government pdf file Basically: Automobiles that have a weighted average fuel consumption rating of 13 or more litres per 100 kilometres will be subject to the excise tax at the following rates: at least 13 but less than 14 litres per 100 kilometres, $1000; at least 14 but less than 15 litres per 100 kilometres, $2000; at least 15 but less than 16 litres per 100 kilometres, $3000; 16 or more litres per 100 kilometres, $4000. The weighting is 55% city / 45% highway. Here's an article from a couple years ago when people were taking a "first look" at the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Skip down to the Staggering paragraph and have a read on why GM uses skip-shift programming. There are plenty of other articles, including white papers, that will give you more precise numbers. Cheers!

Skip Shift doesn't lug the engine..the driver does...
Basically it activates when you ease off from a stop at a slow rate(the parameters are in the manual),if you smartly shift to 4th and maintain that easy acceleration the engine is NOT lugging...now if you shift into 4th and then decide to mash the gas YOU will be lugging the engine. I personally prefer to accelerate in 1st normally(not easy, not WOT) and I rarely ever get it ,the only time I do get it is if someone slows down in front of me before I shift and I have to let off the gas. Around town I use 1st,3rd and 5th and sometimes if I don't come to a complete stop(light changes) I use 2nd,4th and 5th.

Another vote for skip shift vs gas guzzler tax.
It literally takes less than five minutes to install once the car is on jack stands.

SLP SKIP SHIFT ORDERED TODAY!
I bought the M6 for the LS3 and the total control of when to shift. I do not like it when it kicks me into center neutral. This SLP IMO will be worth every penny. Have a great day!
