Something to do with a recent change in safety regulations or something along those lines.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Your sales person just opened his mouth and removed all doubt, so yes they are an idiot. Don't worry you'll be able to order the Hurst and actually receive one within a few months as a dealer install (or self-install, it's fairly simple).

WOW! I think I need to find a new site. Regardless if that was true or not, so many of you started bitching and moaning about it! I noticed a lot of bitching over little issues on here. You want a Hurst, go buy one in the aftermarket and INSTALL it....its not all that hard! Also, when the car gets here, it gets here....quit moaning about it! Did most of you vote for Obama, because you seem like crying liberals! Yep....I went political!!

Gary is right, the whining is out of hand, it's not like you've paid for the hurst already. The shifter will still be available for later dealer install and future factory installs.

Thanks Scotty, good to hear it from you. But seriously, WTF, what did he receive or hear from GM that made him so sure that he would call me and tell me this? Actually, this is the first call I have received from him on anything, it has been the other way around on every issue and he has been well less than knowledgeable or helpful.

I really regret placing my order with this dealership and am seriously thinking about cancelling my order and waiting another year. The straw that will break the camels back will be whether I take delivery of my 2SS/RS IOM before June 30th, if not I will cancel my order and take my business to another dealership.

welcome to anything to do with the internet. People bitch it's what they do. Though I do agree with you about the aftermarket. The lack of overal technical knowledge (generally speaking) about cars and DIY's on this site is a little different from most. Everyone here seems to like a packaged deal.

I think the case of the Hurst shifter LPO is different. It's not really a DIY issue, at least for me and a lot of other posts I've noticed. I've installed 2 Hursts already, so the install is not a problem for me. I want the option on the window sticker. It's not a deal-breaker, but I'm spending close to $35K on this car - and I want the window sticker to show the Hurst option. I just think it's cool, that's all.
