V8 Guys: Do you plan on using your SS as your daily driver?

Just curious? Though I'm 75% for the V6 at this moment the other 25% still wants to go for the SS. Thing is my next car will be my DAILY DRIVER, and if I go the V8 route I have the feeling i'm gonna have to move as close as possible to work to mitigate the possibility of regular visits to the gas station.

Yes. I'll have to live with the 23mpg (realistically probably around 15-20 from stomping the pedal)... Gas can kiss my a!!

The only difference between the V6 and the V8 as far as fuel economy is concerned is 3 MPG (26 for the V6 and 23 for both V8's, auto and manual). I'll be using my as a daily cruzer.

Hell yeah I am. It's not like it's some classic car, so why not? If something goes wrong with it, it's on my dealership.

Yes, but only because I'm assuming my commute will either be like it is now, which is carpooling less than 10 miles to a park-and-ride and catching a company vanpool, or I'll be living within a few miles of work.

Those were just guesstimates according to Ed Peper. Hopefully they can squeeze a few more MPG's.

I was talking to a family friend about this last night who drives an S550 and he spends about $120 to fill it up. That car gets 15/24 which is probably only minus 1 to 2 mpg from what will be the SS's final MPG rating.

That's how I'll be driving. I want the V8, but I am strongly considering a V6. It would be fun to have a V6 running with V8s like the Mustang and other cars like the 350Z. Either way, it will be my daily driver.

Nope, it will not be my DD.

I have no idea how long my commute will be by the time the 5th gens hit the streets, but chances are, it's going to be a big one, so little 4banger beater for the DD, and the Camaro for the weekend, or the odd days where i just feel like it.
Also, having picked up 19 door dings in 6 months on my Z28, the idea of that happening to my SS just makes me a very sad panda...

Yep, I currently get 15-20MPG in my ram. Any improvement will be for the better, that and my rams tank is 26 gallons were the camaro will be less than that.

That and I car pool to work because its just more convenient and cheaper, that means I drive when I feel like it, and Don't drive when I don't feel like it.
