The government is more of the problem and less of the solution.

We're free to do as we choose.

Prayers for this man and his family, a terrible tragedy. Sometimes we talk about going fast and get caught up in enjoying our cars, but these beautiful machines can be lethal in the wrong hands - or even with a few small mistakes.

Good grief. The last thing anyone needs is more regulations.

I thought it was when I read it. But nowadays, in an America full of sheep, it wouldn't surprise me.

Sorry for the loss of life, it's a choice that we all make when we decide to race but I'm sure that's no condolence to the family. Thoughts and prayers are with them.

But, on a lighter not, after reading all the awesome responses about the 'gubmint stepping in I now realize I'm in like-minded company with the a lot of folks here! Go team 'Merica!

Tree or no tree there is person that won't be making it home to his family. My condolences to them. We always take for granted when we say "Ill be back to the wife and kids" and then tragically not make it back.

RIP

You guys that go there should study up on track safety and be advocates for track improvements. That does not look safe at all. You don't need the government to help you with common sense.

From eye witness accounts, tree wasn't an issue. Guard rails cut the car in half. They said he was probably dead before the car even came close to the street.

I was standing right there, the tree in the picture wasn't the issue. It was the previous tree that he broadsided that cut the car in half. The guardrail was on the ground at that point.

My heart goes out to the guys buddy that was there with him. I really wanted to do something for him, or say something to him. I know nothing would have helped. But I really wanted to do something.
