What's happening to my trap speed?

Went to the strip yesterday, beautiful day, upper 60's, very little wind. I normally trap in the 127 range, yesterday only 123ish. 60 ft normal for me, 1.8-1.9's (still working on that!) 10 runs never over 123. The only change made to the car is a interchiller installed which should be giving me more power and trap. IAT2 was 55 or so at launch 100 or so at the end. My buddy was there and running his normal traps and ET's. Any ideas what could be going on?

...runnin out of fuel? r u data loggin?...have a wide band? cooler iat SHOULD/MUST be compensated with additional fuel...check plugs after a run....good luck and report back!

btw..wats your rear tire setup? 60 could be lower? unfortunately I gotta wait until the 24th when my track has it's next T&T...now that I hope I've figured out my launch the 60 WILL(lol) improve and with the cooler air....this sh!t is fun!

Not data logging. Rears are MT ET street S/S DR's. Yes my 60 should be better, only go to the strip once maybe twice a year so seat time is an issue. So having cooler IAT2 is killing me without a new tune?

how much more efficient is the new inter-chiller? since that is the only change that is where I would be lookin...plus with your build/investment data log would be a good insurance policy!

what size rear dr's? with your power you might need to do a 15' conversion to get the most out of it off the line...

I hope to go back to the strip in the next few weeks, I'll run without the chiller and see if my trap speed comes back. What do I need to start data logging? Any one else have any ideas?

Went to the strip again today, first few runs without the interchiller, trap speeds still low, 122/123. Anybody else want to chime in?

You can capture one data log on the SCT X4 by itself if you don't have a laptop. I do it all the time. Without a data log you are shooting in the dark.

Let's see before and after slips. Could be it's making all the power, but losing ground early or something. Picking the whole time slip apart can be very telling.

And couldn't agree more on the data logging. If nothing else, you can take an OBDII-bluetooth dongle, run a screen capture on a cell phone, and record data from the Torque app.

Has there also been a change in your ET as well? What was your previous ET as well as your most current? If you posted it i missed it, sorry.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll get a SCT X4 and figure out how to data log for next year. For time slips, what would work? Similar 60' would be the key correct? My ET has been slower with similar 60', although I got my personal best this time, it was 11.368 @ 122.72 with a 1.72 60. The 60' on my previous PB was 1.89, with a 11.462 @127.35.

At a minimum it would be good to see the 60', 660' ET and MPH, and 1320' ET and mph. The other ETs can help as well - so all the data is best.

We're going to be focusing in on the 660' mph, and the difference between that and the 1320' mph, to evaluate how the car "back-halves" the track. For example, if you're 660' mph is 5mph low compared to the 127mph slip, and the car is picking up a similar amount of mph on the back half, then that points to something going on early in the run, maybe knocking the tires off bad on the 1-2 shift for example, something not power development related.

If the car has a similar mph in the 660' to the 127mph slip, but shows a lower gain in overall mph from 660 to 1320, then that is pointing to the car laying over power wise.

I would log the passes to figure this out. Could it be belt slip?

Here you go, very similar 60' to compare apples to apples, similar weather too, high 50's. Left #13 right #27.
