Magnaflow Delete, then Resonated X Pipe, then X Pipe (with video)

I did a write up a few days ago about the Magnaflow Axle back muffler delete system I put on my car http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82977. Loved the system and it sounded VERY mean. However, after driving it around for a few days the decal popping was more than I could tolerate. So, I ordered the Resonated X Pipe and had it put on this last weekend. During the install I had the shop take out my h pipe and stock resonators. Well, the decel popping was tamed down, but so was the overall sound. It was certainly deeper sounding than the stock system, but honestly, it wasn’t much louder. I was VERY disappointed in the result. So I just got back from my local exhaust shop and they took out my resonated x pipe (which will be up for sale soon!) and replaced it with a non-resonated x pipe. THIS is the sound I was looking for!! Decel popping is worse than with the resonated pipe, but nothing like with the sock h pipe (it's very tolerable). It sounds much ‘tighter’ but is pretty loud. The shop took a video of the final product, so I’ll have that sound clip added to this post when it’s available.

The youtube video just went up, here it is (it was very windy out...):

i had my decel popping tuned out. the coast down timing needs to be adjusted. that's what i did, and no more popping.

I think this is exactly what I am going to do... I have the resonated-X right now and it is not loud enough!

if you get tired of it not being loud enough now, you could always add headers and high-flow cats... that's what i got and it is EXTREMELY LOUD!

Nope, didn't throw any codes. In respect to MPG, if it did it's unnoticeable to me. I drive very easy and was getting 22-24 around town before and still am.

If it looks like a muffler, then it's resonated. it it looks literally like a two pipes that 'X' then it's not.

resonated:

non-resonated:

Did you go with 2.25, 2.5, or 3.0''? I'm sold on the non-resonated X pipe but don't know what size to go with. My exhaust is stock other than the axle back muffler delete. Also is it a given that a good muffler shop knows how to install this?
