License Plate
I'm new to US and I've heard many different answers on this topic from various friends.
My new Camaro doesn't have a front license plate holder, what is the actual rule in Texas, am I forced to have 2 license plates? I see many car without the front one.... Thank you ! |

You are required to have 1 plate in the front and 1 in the back. My mazda 6 did not have a plate holder in the front and I got pulled over 3 times last year. I got lucky with just warnings but you never know. All 3 times were by state troopers. Never bothered in town.

That will work. I just ordered one almost the same for one of my Corvette's. The one I ordered came pre-painted to the exact color as the car, so you barely notice, it looks molded in... yet it is held in place with 3M tape, so can come off one day if it had to. $200 fine in Texas if you don't have a front plate, unless you register as Antique (which your Camaro surely is not). My older vehicle's don't have to have a front plate.

I ordered this - GM Part # 19166219. It is for my C6 Corvette and the part number is for the Crystal Red painted one. My Camaro came with a front bracket already so I never purchased one for it but this one for the Corvette is a GM part and it does not require any drilling. http://www.gmpartsdirect.co/oe-gm/19...1vEaAhu68P8HAQ

I live in the DFW area and just got this ticket after 6 years of owning my car. Its a $120 fine, $10 dollars after dismissal...still have no front plate and not going to install one. Got mine from an Arlington cop. Not the first time ive been pulled over in my car, but it was specificaly why he did pull me over.
