If the top isn't the issue, but the mechanism is. And GM has said the current production run has the "fixes" in place. I'd ask for the entire top asssembly replaced or market value at time vehicle developed problem, and dealer touched vehicle to attempt repair.
Seems too simple so it probably won't pass corporate scrutiny. Good luck and keep the faith!

Congrats Tony... I'm sure you were sweating one of those tests, lol! ;-)
Thanks everyone...I'm hoping they approve my solution (well, Sux2bu's... actually) and will write that into the warranty... I agree; I don't understand his they can be producing problem free cars but not be able to fix mine... Ppl at Starling have been good to me; of we can fix it; their def the ones to get involved. Another members had his entire top- canvas, mechanics, frame replaced and that seemed to work. Seems to be cheaper than buying the car back; id think... we'll see.

Thanks for looking out Darrin!
Per my contact w GM Thursday, that TSB was already done on my car in Oct when the field tech came down to Orlando to fix the top last time. It was an"experimental" stage then and not yet released, although it appears nothing more than a conglomeration of all the prior TSBs into one... they were waiting on the release to "fix" my car this time, however it wasn't until the field rep got involved that they determined it had already been done... The BRIGHT side is, I've been putting a lot of miles on the car lately, anticipating a month without her for repairs, and it seems the more I drive, the less the dreaded rub marks are getting... it might be settling in and working itself out... I still have the hole in the back, but that's a completely different issue that should be correctable... there's still hope!
