Tinted/blacked out tail lights

Looking to getting this done, either at 20% or 35%. Does that make you more apt to get pulled over? Is it harder to see the tail lights by that much? Just want opinions with anyone whose gotten this done.

I haven't been pulled over for it yet. The lights are still visible when they're operating. However I haven't had to get a safety check done yet. We'll seee what happens then.

It is def illegal to tint your tail lights..it's also illegal to do your windows in some states, but we do it anyway. I wouldn't be worried about getting pulled over as much as safety. It would be a lot bigger chance of people not able to see your brake lights. If someone hits you from behind, you'll be at fault if they claim they didnt see your brakes due to the tint.

Yeah thats what I'm worried about, someone not seeing my lights and hitting me. I had window tint on my 07 Impala and got pulled over twice for it. Once at a checkpoint and once during a blizzard(I kid you not). By the time he handed me my ticket I had to turn all the way around and take main roads home because the roads got so bad. He pulled me over about a hour into it. I was so pissed but never took them off.

In Arizona its legal to tint the tail-lights as long as they are still visible from 500 feet. I applied the "Gunsmoke" tint from Big-Worm Graphix and it looks great. Very dark when the lights are off but still bright enough to be safe.

I bought Headlight Armor's (http://www.headlightarmor.com/10-13-...ector-kit.aspx) smoked (30%) taillight kit.

Installation wasn't too bad. Had some small bubbles after initial application but after a week or so they disappeared just like the instructions said they would. Very happy with the results.

It sucks that i sometimes read about camaros getting pulled over for this. And every new mustang I see has basically black back lights stock

Yes. No measurements or cutting required.
