CONVERTER OR GEARS.
I know this has probably been asked before, but can't seem to find the thread. I am going to do a cam swap in the near future finally, but the car is now just a bolt on car with ported TB, LT's, off road mids and an xpipe, should I do the stall first? or do a gear change? I have looked at the converters and don't know which I should get. I was told that a single disc would be fine for the street as she is a daily driver. Yank has one I like and so does Circle D, which one do you pros suggest and what stall would you recommend? Was looking at doing a 3200-3400 stall. Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys, 2 of the top guys on here. Much appreciated. Bo, what stall would you go with? The cam I am looking at is the TSP 231/236 112LSA.
Thanks again.

I'd definitely go with the 4k as well. LSx engines typically make peak tq at 4200+ rpm. A rumpity cam will push that to 4500 or so, right in the sweet spot for a 4k stall.

Key thing to remember DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THE CONVERTER!! A cheap budget 3600 converter will drive worse than a higher quality 4000 stall. Talking daily driver characteristics. Look into the likes of the Circle D Pro series and the Yank SS series or higher.

Circle D 3200 or 4C. I don't remember the model number of the 3200, I'd have to look it up. I had 3 in my car... Also had the 2E which I consider too loose to run with stock gears.

Good morning guys, thanks for the information! I was talking to my tuner the other day and for this cam package I'm looking to run, he suggested a "tight" 3200 Circle D for my car and what I am looking out of it. I have a friend who was running a 3600 on the street and loved it. So looks like I have a decision to make. lol. Thanks again..Appreciate the help..

Thanks, I am looking at the Circle D pro series in a 3600 stall, that's what I really want. Don't want to have to do it "again". I have read where some guys did 3200 and wished they would have done 3600.
