For anyone wondering why its good to change the fluid right after getting the car here are some pics.
Car has 1500 miles on it to give you an idea.

Drain plug on the left and fill plug on the right. The rag shows all the crap that came off both plugs and the fluid in the bucket had a definite metallic look to it. Ignore the leaf and grass that definitely didn't come out of the Diff.

When I did mine at the same mileage it looked similarly. The fluid looked like it was full of glitter too.

It's pretty normal for a freshly built rear end though. The engine oil looked like hell and the trans fluid was pretty good but the shift improvement from the new fluid was worth it.

I changed ours for the 1st time ar 700 miles just before our 1st event with the car and it was just as black and burnt, its one of the 1st things I always suggest to a new 5th gen owner. I changed it again at 5000 miles and then at 10000 miles and it looks great compared to the first time

I added Dimple plugs all around when I swapped all my oils. The strength difference between the stock plugs and the Dimple's was astounding.

Having added those gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. There's no way it can't be good.

It's pretty easy on the drivers side (I believe) there are two plugs they use a 3/8" ratchet to remove. The bottom is drain the top is fill. Basically take out the top so you don't get a vacuum take out the bottom to drain. It takes a quart. Reverse procedure and fill with fluid of your choice, just make sure it has the limited slip additive. Get a hand pump to transfer the fluid into the diff.

All this is obviously while the car is properly raised and supported by jack stands.

I didn't even have to Jack mine up. Just backed it up to the small lip where the garage and dive way meet have me plenty of room. Helps if your drive way is sloped some.

I was able to get the fluid in with out a pump but a pump would make it easier. Just fill it back up till it starts coming out the fill hole then your done. Make sure the car is level when filling it up though.

I use the factory oil #88900401 synthetic and factory LSD additive. I change mine after the 100 mile break-in procedure ( I did a SS diff swap ) and again after 1,500 miles.
