What would you rather have ... 2LT/RS or 1SS?
Okay, here is a questions I ask and only because I want to make sure I made the best choice.
Would you rather have a fully loaded 2LT/RS with all the bells and whistles or a base 1SS with none of the extras? SO the only thing that I can think of is the V8, but is that worth the extra $$ and then lose out on all the nice cool looks of the RS package and mp3/remote start and all that jazz ... My budget could have 1 or the other, so I made my choice to be a fully loaded 2LT/RS .... did I make the right choice? |

i would want the v8 for a month but when the edge of flooring it everywhere goes away i would want the car with the options so it doesnt feel like a tin can and it still has 304 hp

I got the 2LT RS because over the long term and daily commuting I felt that was the better car for me. With that said, if I wasn't saving for a house and other things, I would have gone 2SS.

i'm going to get a 1SS, but that's because the camaro is only gonna be my go-fast car. it needs the v8, bigger brakes, better suspension, etc & i only want cloth seats and basic options - heck, i was hoping for manual seats, locks, & windows.
if the bells & whistles are important to you, go with the LT/RS. it's still got plenty of performance with a bit of room for upgrades later

Depends what you want the car for.
If you like racing (going to the track) or modifying your cars, then the SS is the car for you. I personally wouldn't even consider a V6 Camaro, but that's because it doesn't suit my needs or desires. But if you just want a Camaro and you don't really care about racing or modifying your car, then the V6 will suit your needs. |

I think the majority of the time you'd be happy with the 2LT; Less initial cost, better gas mileage, regular gas, cheaper insurance, back tires last longer , and still has the power of many of the hot luxury imports (TL, Z, G coupe, etc.).
Plus, it's just a lot nicer than a 1SS (or 1LT).

no doubT, the 2LT/RS, that is what I got, believe you me, 304 hp is enough, that is unless you are into racing your car. of course, 304 hp is nothing to laugh at either, it moves along bretty damn good. Even my BIG STS Caddy has the same engine, I have had it a year and a half before I got my Camaro, and I KNEW the V6 was enough, case for a big car, it RUNS!!

1SS. V8 power and performance sounds alot more fun than playing with a remote starter.

Honestly its really not hard to figure out. I dont know the type of person you are but if performance is your thing and its a weekend toy and the first things you start asking is what the first performance mods to get 1SS is the way to go. I test drove both the V6 and the V8 the 2LT RS is the sweet spot for this car if you are not going to be racing and just want a fun and cool looking car. My fav things on this car is the besides the fact it looks amazing is the sound system, leather interior, my sunroof and the fact its a 6 speed. The first things im getting are floor mats and some tint im doing nothing to the motor its enough for me so the 2LT RS was the correct choice for me. I would be really upset now if i had to give those up for a faster motor and none of these options but thats just me. The V6 on this car is a great motor for a daily its fun as hell. I drive this car every day so i did not want to deal with premium fuel and higher insurance for a daily driver. If someone said they would make me a even trade for there 1SS i would say no thanks ill pass without even thinking about it. The only thing i miss is the sound of a V8 but its not a deal breaker by any means. My advice test drive both before u make up your mind. Just be true to yourself you know what makes u tick not us. Dont say u cant get a test drive i live in Canada where its 1000x harder to get them but i got 3 of them ;o) Good luck

1 SS definatley. You WILL wish you did later. The thing about this car is that the 'base' model is a helluva lot better that most. The car still looks mean as hell without the Halos. You get the spoiler anyway with the SS and who cares about roof ditch molding.
You asked, I answered. You will wish you got the SS. |

As a DD I opted for the 2LT/RS ..... I won't be parking it for the winter, I won't be driving it only on weekends ..... I prefer the comfort options the 2LT/RS has over the 1SS... I've had a 1st gen and 2nd, now style and comfort are more important to me than speed ....
