Question Difficult to rev match?

I heard somewhere that the SS is hard to rev match when down shifting. Is it true?

I've been lurking on here for alittle while and just joined.

I'm currently in iraq getting as much research on the SS as possible for when I get one when I return. This site is amazing, it has everything. = )

There was one other thing I wanted to ask... but I forgot. = |

The Camaro is like any other car in that respect. It just takes a little while to get the feel for it.

Thanks for your service and I am sure that you will love your SS when you return.

I have the SS M6 and I would say it is no harder to rev match than any other manual I've driven. Just takes practice. Really there is nothing unusual or that different with this tranny and shifter. Just a little notchy and you have to be firm but the gates are easy to hit and the only time I've missed a gear or mis-matched the revs on a downshift have been because I wan't paying attention to the action at hand and that has happened only a couple of times.

Others also comment about not liking the clutch engagement. I adjusted to it in just a couple of days. It's really a rather forgiving engine/ drive train package. You can loaf around or rip the gears - its good either way! 420 ft. lb. of torque across a broad rpm band and a tough tremec tranny gives you that flexibility.

The rev matching is not difficult, its a simple matter of paying attention to the rpms at certain speeds in each gear...whoever told you it was hard to rev match must be a beginner manual driver....

Rev matching is something the driver does, not the car. I have no problems doing it.

the positioning of the gas and clutch pedals make it a bit harder to rev match.
