Mgw shifter huge thumbs up!!

I did not know how good these shifter were as I replaced my stock shifter before I even drove my new car. I now have 1000 miles on my car and I happened to drive a new 2013 on a dealers lot this week. It had the gm performance shfiter in it and I am here to tell you I am just tickled pink I put the mgw shift in my in my car. What a terrific upgrade. Anyone on the fence on putting a short throw in their car I can gives the mgw a huge thumbs up. What a treat to row!!!

How long did it take to get your shifter delivered from MGW? Thanks!

Keep in mind I ordered mine in the dead of winter and I really did not need it as I ordered mine in January and my car did not come in until March but to answer your question it was three weeks or so.

Thanks Minge. What shift knob did you go with? I am torn between the options MGW has.

Man I've been on the fence about this...have read nothing but great things about MGW. The install looks pretty involved though and kind of holding me back.

It isn't really all that difficult to install. Figure 3 hours if you have never done anything like this. Releasing the retainers on the pins when pulling out the original shifter was the only tricky part. Just takes a little effort. Watch the videos on YouTube and it is pretty easy.

MGW makes arguably the best shifter out there performance wise, I would have bought an MGW but I could only afford a used Hurst

I had a Hurst, and changed to a MGW. A very fine shifter indeed. I ordered the stick with metric threads same as a Mustang (gasp!). This allowed me to use a Hurst sidewinder shift knob with the switch built in. I use the switch for the line lock. Pictures are in my build thread.

I retained my stock shift knob. I had to buy a new knob as I restored mine removing as I did not know about the set screw on the 2013.

The pins are a bitch other then that install is pretty straight forward. The videos help allot.

Go for it you will not be sorry.
