I have been going back and forth on this. I really don't want to provide one more thing for the police to be able to pull me over for. At the same time, I don't want the holes in the bumper and my car will have ground effects so the hideaway isn't the best option.
I had almost decided to just have the plate installed and mentioned it to my son-in-law. I got the impression he might just disown me for even thinking about it. Now I'm back to figuring out the best way to attach it.

Around here the Sherriffs and local PD doesn't mess with you. I don't have a front plate on my 79 or my 2010. I have two police officers in the family. Neither issue tickets for no front plate. They will use it as a reason to pull you over if they suspect anything illegal might be going on.
Now, if you are doing something stupid, they'll add that to the list of tickets!!! |

I ended up taking the stock bracket and putting it in the lower grill it is a good fit and just zip tied it in place, and just put 2 little rubber bumpers just incase it rubs.

Drive your car at night in Kyle at your own risk... There is a cop that has now pulled me over twice. The first time was at 1:00 am. I was at the intersection by Luvianos, and trying to decide if I wanted to go straight or turn... I turned, and there he was... Stopped me for no front plate and no turn indicator... I asked him who I was supposed to be signaling as there was no-one else on the road... He also asked why I had no front plate... I told him I was not going to drill the front fascia... This was about a week ago... So, tonight, he is following a truck that I know was doing 55 approaching the same intersection, in the 45 mph zone and he spun on me again... WTF....So he gives me the song and dance...blah blah blah... I told him I had ordered a hide-a-plate.... AND.... I asked him who in the Kyle PD owns the 2010 Camaro with no front plate... I am off to discover that tid-bit tomorrow when I see it sitting there... Either this other dude gets his on, or this midnight knucklehead gets off my case....I've had cops flag me down just to look at the car and never mentioned the front plate....I laughed at him when he asked for my work number... I rattled off a string of numbers about 18 digits long and he thought I was being a smart ass...or a liar, (which will piss me off quicker than most anything) after ten or so... So, I pulled up my phone, dialed the same 18 or so digits and my rig answered in Brazil... I asked him who he wanted to talk to... uhhh... Dohhhh... Dude, I just told you I work OFFSHORE BRAZIL... you don't want to call my work... you have my cell if you want to call me... Quote:
So this is two fantastic Camaro nights he has knocked the fun out of... I get along great with most police officers, being a retired FF/Paramedic but as I have been told by smart people.... you can't pin a badge on just anyone...
