Figure an SS would be averaging around 20 to MPG on an 80/20 highway/city split and that SS is a waste of money, the LLT would achieve 26-30 MPG in the same scenario. Add on the price difference between an LS to even a 1SS and the scenario only gets less cost effective. You really can't make a reasonable case for driving low mileage car over 30K MSRP.

Congrats on wasting probably $40,000 when a car half that price would have done the job better. What these guys choose to do with their cars is there business, but given I'm in a similar scenario I'm going to call it like I see it and says that a waste of money. The car DD I bought for work has already paid for itself, the rest can go into savings or.....dare I say my Camaro?
Really, my DD van cost me over 28k and only got 14mpg, so going to a V6 for less money and doubling in gas mileage that now pays for the gas and the insurance!
Could have gone with the V8 but have a few of those already and why pay more for the same look?

Makes sense to me. Like I said, I don't see the logic in getting an SS if you're going to put 50-75k on it every year. Might as well get some ROI with higher mileage.

Some people would say what is the logic in buying a Camaro when there are other cars that get better gas mileage and are more environmentally friendly, and I know you've heard some of those arguments... Some would even say why buy a muscle car in this day/age with gas prices being what they are, to them its not "logical."

My point why must car choices be logical? I understand your rationale, and why you would never do it, i.e. buy a SS and put a lot of miles on it.... but for some it's a non-issue... Just as its not logical "to me" for a person to buy a car and never drive it, I respect the fact that they choose not to do so... Not what I would do, but I respect their choice.....

How long have you had it?
Coming up on my 1st year and will hit somewhere @ 36k miles.
June 26 2009. It was a Saturday and to this day I regret not calling in...car sick... when I got the call while, of all things, driving to work. It was picked up on Sat. Dealer called to tell me it was on the truck on Friday.

Yeah, I like it too
Got hit on the hood from concrete being dumped from the interstate construction weeks after getting it. It was loud and dusty combined with being around midnight. Got up the next day and thought I had hit the world's largest moth. Wiped my hand across the hood, the concrete dust had hid the gouge and dent. I felt sick.

yup... my cammed 2SS/RS at 77,000 miles makes me happy indeed. And when the engine is trash at 300,000 miles... I'll drop something even nastier in it
