my muffler delete
Did the muffler delete today. put 4" stainless black chromed tips on. I cant understand guys spending $1200 to put an exhaust on when doing this is this simple this cheap and sounds this good.
car sounds like it SHOULD sound! love it if your on the fence, DO IT. looks good, sounds better |

Looks good. Comapred to stock, is there much more noise in the cabin? I would do this... just wondering if the noise would get annoying after a while, especailly at idle or low crusing speeds. At open throttle i could care less, just concerned at low speeds?

at hwy speeds I checked..... 55, 60, 65,70, 75 barely louder than factory in overdrive nice sound overall. only thing that is slighlty annoying is the decel popping. its more pronounced now, but not enough to make me regret it! def a good investment. |

Well since u have an SS i can understand a little more agressive note to the V8s but for a v6 muf. delete do you think the "thunderous roar", as you put it, would be comaprable to the v6?

if you have a V6 DO NOT do it
it will sound worse than a honda with a pepsi can on the back.... not something that will work on the v6... def need a catback system for those..... |

Probably most folks that spend the money for the all new exhaust, and get it in a bigger size like 3"!!!!!!!!!!!

However for the money, and if your only going for the sound such as myself, it cant be beat. and to truly be honest. 3" from 2.5" is almost nil in gains. 1/2" in tube size is nothing. hell when we pull the 3" tubing we use the same die just a different mandrel to get down to 2.5" the high flow cats make a difference, as do headers.... but for cat back. your gaining a little, then you throw a muffler on and now youve gained the same as what I just gained by doing the muffler delete. but to be honest I just wanted the sound. im happy with my 450 HP at the motor with my few but powerful mods. |
