What doesn't make any sense is how the ZL1 isn't in the specific model section.

My take is...no Z/28 until the new model. Ichschnay on the Z28 talksay.....( we've been moved to the back page) No stage 2 for the ZL1, we now have 1LE SS upgrade <closest thing to the Z/28 we are going to see>, and the Carbon ZL1 edition is to come out somewhere not yet announced....then the carrage is going to turn into the pumpkin. I do not think GM has the stomach to pursue ambitious goals in a smaller niche market such as high performance cars. MY 14 wil be the only opportunity for "change" in an escalation of the horsepower war with the current design, sumarily I feel complacancy will substitute competition. Just my gut feeling.

GM will need something to excite buyers especially when the new Mustang shows up. Notice how the game is played; GM introduces the ZL1, Ford introduces the most powerful production V8 ever. Ford introduces their newly redesigned Mustang, GM will trump it with the Z**.

It's also cool that this site gets a small part in the process. After the 1LE was shown at SEMA FBODFATHER asked us if we would like to see it built. I guess there was enough of a positive response that we ended up with what we see now. Truthfully they were probably already hard at work on making the 1LE when he asked but I'm sure some of the feedback was used. They really nailed the pricepoint by eliminating the magnetic ride and even the ZL1 brakes which a lot of us wish was an option. Who knows, if enough people feel the brakes are lacking they might make it a future option. It doesn't hurt to ask.
There was hope that the SSX concept could be sold as a club racer. Unfortunately the perceived value of the SSX by prospective buyers was far less than the cost to build them. That pretty much put an end to the concept.

The SSX is a fully caged completely stripped club racer so my answer would be no.

Yeah- I thought the entire Z28 section got deleted too when I didn't see it right away. I don't chat much, but do stop by here from time to time to see what I can learn. The regulars here do know alot about camaros.

I guess my thoughts were that the car basically was set up like a club racer version of the 1LE.

still think the 5Gen is too heavy to have a Z28? Take a look at the link.

,,,saw a short blurb on cable today, I believe it said CEO Ackerson stated GM was breaking up US "fifedoms" and relinguishing previously made US Corporate decisons to a more global scale. There goes more US control and ultimately jobs, overseas.
Read it here...
