Boss 302, that good?

Ive been running into a lot of articles online lately about how impressive the Boss 302 apparently is, however all the articles online talk about the Boss with Laguna Seca Package. Just wondering if the boss is still that good without Laguna Seca, considering without the package the Boss is like 12k more then 5.0.

Funny story, my friends uncle just bought a Boss 302 and claims its super limited here in Canada and that it has Laguna Seca. I checked out his car :P doesn't have Laguna Seca package. I got under his skin by pointing out that he would have been better off buying a camaro and supercharging it plus some with the difference money :P and that my car against his would be a straight up drivers race.

The boss makes 40 legit whp more then the regular 5.0, and has a hell of a factory coilover suspension. They're pretty monstrous for what they cost.

Its more about preference....if you are a car guy, the mustang is a nice car. If you are a chevy guy, you probably won't like it no matter what ford puts under the hood.

I have not driven the boss yet, but I like the new 5.0. It is a nice car, worlds apart from the 2010 mustang GT.

....but, I drove the 5.0, the challenger and the camaro extensively. I prefer the low end torque of the camaro, so thats what I went with.

I don't quite get the leguna sega option, if I didn't want a back seat and wanted a track car I probably would have got a vette.....of course the ford fans don't like that option....

But for the cost is just cant see how 40hp over 5.0 is really worth the cost.

Canada:

Boss 302 (No Laguna)=$58,646
Boss 302 (With Laguna)=$65,878
Mustang 5.0=$40,015
Camaro 2SS fully loaded=$44,970

Im a car guy and ill give them credit regardless of what company makes it, But cmon the price difference is nuts.

I have looked over the Boss 302.... It is basically what we Camaro folks would like as a Z28.

Pretty much stripped, and hopped up version of the GT. Less luxury, more and better performance and handling. What kind of ticks me off (just like when the Camaro came out) is that some of our local dealers are asking a $10k premium over sticker.

In the end, its a pretty darn nice performing auto, but not worth the dealer mark-up.

For the price (if no markup), I think the Boss 302 is a hell of a deal and a hell of a car.

The Boss 302 Laguna Seca is an awesome car...for the simple fact that it will force GM to compete with it. And I really think they did an awesome job on the car itself. Kuddos Ford.

I agree. I've owned an 05 GT, 08 Bullitt, and a 2010 Roush and I liked the Bullitt out of all of them. The color and the stealth look is much nicer than the over the top Boss 302.

My local Ford dealer had one and it went for $5,000 over sticker.
I wish you had a better choice of color schemes.

I view it as some competitive motivation for GM, to step up and do something similar with what could be a Z28.

Drop some weight, tunethe suspension and massage the motor..... THAt would be something of interest to a lot of folks.

Even with dark clouds looming regarding CAFE rules, these are really some interesting times for the enthusiast.

Yep! I really believe they are working on a Z/28 but don't see it happening until this ZL1 thing has started or is over.
