Possible for a v6 to run high 12 second time with bolt ons in the 1/4?

Think its possible? with which engine mods to the LFX? I see all the highest times here are by LLT engines, do those headers really give more power rather than the integrated exhaust manifold? Would love to hear your suggestions and feedback

I don't think it will be possible with just bolt ons. You will probably need to port the heads and do cams to have a shot. Here's a guy trying with an LLT.

BTW, the fastest STOCK V6 is a LFX (racegirl). I imagine when she starts modding she will probably be the fastest bolt on V6 as well (challenge issued) .

I imagine it may be tough, even for the SS folks cracking 12 isn't always guaranteed with bolt-ons.. I think the LFX vs LLT times are pretty close even with integrated headers.

12's, with bolt ons......... Only if you consider superchargers and turbo chargers bolt ons....

I accept that challenge! And I think it's possible even if I went 12.99. If I was the first bone stock V6 to go thirteens, why not be the first bolt-on to go twelves?

It would be nice, but think about this. The fastest stock L99 on this site ran 12.768. The fastest bolt on L99 ran a 11.448. So they gained 1.3 sec from bolt ons/tune. Can you get enough power out of 3.6L with bolt ons and tune to trim 1 sec.? I don't think it is out of the question, but that will be a big hill to climb. I hope you do it, but running a 13.2 or so would be nice, too.

Good luck, now get you dad to fix that car!

My dad and I think it's possible to be number 1 on the bolt-on list with the fewest number of bolt-ons.

Personally I don't see anyone getting to 12's with bolt ons in a V6 LLT or LFX. PLEASE PROVE me wrong, but just stating what I have seen over the past 4 years.

Fastest times were done at ATCO, running slicks, skinnies and host of other good stuff. Great DA included, and still could only manage a 13.4's. You will either need some gears, at the least, along with weight drop of 400 lbs. or another 40HP. Or combination there of those two. Heads and cams might get you some of that HP. But still need weight drop. And when all said and done. What do you have? A V6 capable of high 12's, but at what cost.

GOOD LUCK to all those who pursue this magic number. For me, I just want to move further up the top ten list.

I think its possible with 3.91 gears, will allow the V6 to get into its power range a lot faster.

I think it will be a lot easier for the LFX to get into 12s than it would be for the LLT. Will have to see if with the HP tune that is coming out if you can accurately tune for cams on the LLT. If one can then with cams and a rear end upgrade I think it would be a lot easier to get into the 12s. Until then I will try to find other ways lol.
