Loosing Engine Oil

Ok guys, here is a question, how much oil does your engine looses on a regular bases? I have a 2013 with about 60K on the odometer that I need to add about a quart every 500-600 miles. I checked the engine bay and its dry as a bone. I have never seen any oil stains under the car either. Seems a bit excessive to me.

Also, not sure if it makes a difference but I've installed Elite II catch can and do see some oil in it but not nearly close to a whole quart.

Looking for suggestions as to what it might be.

Thanks,
Alex

2013 1LS, not losing enough oil to pop open a quart bottle between oil changes. Change my oil every 4,000-5,000 miles.

Is this a sudden change or has it been gradually increasing?

Depends how you drive, if you always go full throttle. I don't lose close to that much. If you're running synthetic you can try conventional and see if you lose less. No smoke from the tailpipe at all right?

That's not even bad. Probably normal actually, especially if you're using synthetic.

how long you have the 13, new? sounds like a bad ring set. i have read from good tecs Tracy at rx talks a bout it ,the window to get a good ring set is 0-300 and drive hard ect. no second chance

But it won't actually burn that much. When it's full it burns more

or at least this has been my experience.

And besides that, this is why everyone should check their own oil levels at least once a month or once every 500 miles

And you said half a quart every 5,000 miles, not 500. Lol, half quart every 500 is a bit too much to burn yeah. But GM won't agree.

Toyota certainly doesn't. They issued a recall for the 4 cylinder Rav4s. My girlfriends 07 Rav4 burns oil like crazy and they have a recall to rebuild it when that happens, but they have to verify first. They say as long as it's not burning over 2 quarts every 1000 miles it's fine...

Which it does burn over that, and they claim it didn't. And it burns even more on synthetic

Have never had to add oil, I change it at 3,000-4,000 interval. It's never been lower than a half qt. Mobil 1.

I think your right. 5 year or 50,000 miles. Not positive, that's why I asked. Or is it 60,000?

Justice,
I got the car in February and only notices it after my first oil change a few months ago. However, when I changed the oil, only 3 quarts came out.
