To the OP It was over 8000 miles before I got my first one. Do a search for quarter panel paint problems. They don't only come from tailgating.

I was talking about what does tailgating have to do with the quarter flares? Tailgating may effect the nose, the quarter flares protect from rocks being thrown up by your own tires. Two separate things... I haven't had any problem with rock chips on the nose or sides, I installed the quarter flares for a little more protection for the sides as a precaution after seeing so many pictures of chips around the gills.
