Spark Plug Type and gap?
I have a 2013 ZL1 forged motor with cam, upper pulley, headers, and plenty of other goodies. What I am wondering is what plug and gap most tuners are running in setups similar to this! My compression is 10.1:1 and 12 AFR from what I can gather a TR7IX in NGK is perfect as far as heat range but I am getting quite a bit of misfire at higher RPMS with a gap of .035. Any tips or recommendations are very much appreciated!

Thanks for the tip but I don't believe that going with a larger gap is going to cure it! Also the stock plug is to high in the heat range! Thanks for the idea though!

Nice! I'm not saying it won't work, this is a viable option! It was built and tuned by Clint at American Intense Racing! He installed a BR7EF but I would rather run iridium for the longevity! How much boost are you running?

I do know that if my stock plugs would've been the correct heat range then my tuner would've left them in, or Atleast I would think so! Are you running a fully built motor? What compression? |

As I have a built forged motor complete with 10.1:1 compression! With the combination of my compression and boost I have been advised from tuners and even NGK tech that a step colder than stock plug is recommended!

I am more or less looking to find out if there is a different brand of plug that others with built motors are using as well as what gap they are set too! Thanks again for any info on this matter!

I'm running the same TR7IX that you are. I know that generally they say you should reduce the gap .005 for about every additional 50 HP. I don't know what Andy was gapping mine at. Next time I talk to him I will try to fink out. Our motors seem very close. My compression is like 9.9 or 10.0, boosted slightly over stock.
