I don't have any noise either, but in my case I don't have a lot of miles yet.

The proof was that many 2014 owners were saying the supercharger rattle had gone which made people question it, and then finally MLee took his apart and lo and behold there was a solid coupler in there from the factory to confirm what many suspected.

Thanks for the explanation.

OK, so we know the '12's don't have the solid isolator, and evidently the '14's do, what about the 13's?
Any idea when they made the change? I have a '13 with 14,000 miles, and I don't have a rattle.

My '13 didn't have the rattle either, but it didn't have the solid isolator, it had the spring loaded one - and I swapped to the solid version as part of my build.

I suspect they changed it during the MY14 build run....I'm not sure when though or if we will ever know for sure when it changed

Well, my 13 doesn't make noise (5,000 miles), but when the bearings go out I wonder if they will give me one with a solid isolator. Doubt it.

If they replace it with a new one then you will get the solid isolator by default as that's how they come now.

Mine does and rattled day one, but is now quiet by design it has grooved the shaft. 3800 miles.. Got a commitment from area GM rep that if it fails or gets loud again they will replace.
