I'd be surprised if there isn't a step-by-step thread on here about installing long tubes, but here's an article from GMHTP: http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...s/viewall.html

If you're considering doing a "can" tune, you may want to check out Frost: http://www.tunedbyfrost.com/
I'd put money on him having more experience tuning LS engines than Tom Henry. That's also great that your 5th gen header kits may come with pretty much everything. Good idea to inquire with the company!

Ah, if you're going with stainless works, then you might be alright with the bolts they send as well. It also looks like there is a provision for the rear O2 sensors based on the picture of the system on the SW website -- so I'm assuming they send four extensions then?

I have installed SLP long tube headers and complete SLP exhaust on my SS. It was not hard at all other than one of the 02 sensors that was stuck in the pipe. I got it out but ruined it and of course it was the more expensive one. SLP included the extensions for the 02 sensors. Only problem was I didn't have the pipes straight and the hit the cross over pipe and rattled. I bought the headers at Grabiaks Chevy and they fixed the problem for me.

I then had the car tuned by a local mechanic in Scottdale, Pa. I put on a CAI system along with the exhaust and now have 477 hp at the crank and 411 hp at the wheels.

Bryan is THR.
Any other respectable tuners I should consider? I'm looking for just a can tune. No need for a dyno for just a header install.

I though Bryan was PCM for less? He can tune it without a dyno and it will be cheaper that a cam tune. Not to mention way better.

So THR farms it out? That makes more sense. The way "they" hype their stuff I simply presumed they did everything in-house. However, all one is doing is paying a premium just to have your warranty "saved." That is, presuming they charge more than $150 for just a basic tune without putting it on the dyno/hitting the street.
Think about this, though, Brendan: Consider how often you drive your car, the way you drive it, and what you would ultimately like to do. Do you think you'd actually need to have warranty work? Even if something went wrong, it would likely be something you wanted to upgrade anyway. There's no better justification to the Mrs. for upgrades than when something breaks -- it goes from "I want it" to "I need it"
