Nothing to see here really. Old news. There are already several other promotions with deep Women's divisions. UFC is just the big leagues so casual fans are just now seeing the news.

Rousey is a beast. She is a one-trick pony and nobody is close to stopping that trick. She has the charisma and looks to back up her skillset. Easy for her to be the poster woman of the sport.

It used to be Gina that was the poster woman of the sport, even though it was Cyborg that demolished her. Some of the women fights are pretty awesome to watch!

On top of her looks, Gina was a decent fighter. She had legitimate stand-up striking Muay Tai skills. However, she buckled easily to strikes and had difficulty maintaing composure if the striking was competetive. Hence why Cyborg destroyed her.

Ronda is another story. She has progressed her striking to setup her signature arm bar. She will not back down from Cyborg.

Ronda vs Cyborg will be the fight to launch MMA in the UFC. Ronda still has a 3-fight committment to strikeforce, so it will be awhile. But that's plenty of time for creepy uncle Dana to setup a division and launch with a bang.

Anderson is scary good. He is legitimately the greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the history of mixed martial arts.

Some people like to argue that Fedor still holds that crown. Although Fedor had legendary toughness and an incredible win streak, he didn't have the ability to flat-out dominate an opponent like Silva can.

To me, Silva will always be the MMA GOAT. However, if Jones can continue his dominant progression for the next few years, he could get to that level as well.

I would buy the PPV if they wear the same outfits as the Beach volleyball girls.

Yep, I would agree that he is the GOAT. The fight that I really wanted to see was Silva vs. Jones, but Silva declined by saying that he had no interest in the fight or in Jones' belt.

One can only dream...

Amen. Hopefully it's just a negotiating tactic to get Dana to offer him obscene bucks.

Dana's fantasy is a card at the new Cowboy stadium. Silva vs Jones is the only thing that could make that a reality.

A lot of people think Jones would walk through Silva. I disagree. Jones has more phsyical tools than Silva, and i would imagine he would try to wrestle his way to victory. However, Silva has already proven he is capable in fighting and finishing from just about any position in the Octagon.

I don't normally do MMA math, but Silva clowned Belfort and Bonnar in one round with VERY FEW strikes. Jones fought Bonnar to a decision, and was seriously threatened by a submission attempt by Belfort before he was able to turn the fight around.

But I agree with you. Although this is the fight to see, it's going to be MMA's version of Pacman v Floyd.

Nice shot!

Btw, you see TUF Friday? My god, 3 weeks in a row the judges majorly messed up. They are ruining the show!

I've not been able to watch the last few episodes of TUF, but I'm sure that I can catch the replays...have they been that bad?

Yea, SUPER bad. Two fights that could have been awesome had they gone a third round (which they should have) had insanely scored 10-8 rounds. The last fight, the guy who obviously won was robbed.

I have been soured by TUF lately, but I'm going to the finale in Vegas this year, so I guess I gotta stay current lol.
