Thinking of a new spoiler? You need to see this!

Ok, so I ran into a little problem installing my new RKsport Spoiler. Underneath the factory spoiler was what I would call major damage to the paint. But the bigger problem is the new spoiler is not as deep as the factory on the trunk so it won't cover up the damaged area. (See last pic) Looks like I will have to get the entire trunk repainted.

There's a TSB for that. Take it to the dealer.

When we did R&D on Deron's Camaro " legends" We pulled of his Stock spoiler and it did the same thing, but not on top, only where the edge was some. I think the dealer should also cover that, paint shouldn't just peel like that.

we do have a new 3 piece spoiler, i will measure it and see if it will clear that portion for you

I'm earmarking this thread for whenever I get a new spoiler. hopefully the fix isn't too hard on the wallet.

You may have to put the original spoiler back on, but those of us who had loose spoilers had paint issues. My dealer repaired it free of charge to me. I would certainly go that route before I paid for having it painted myself.

I was wondering if I should or not. They may not fix it if they knew I removed it?

Yep, mine looked the same. My new spoiler covers it all up.

Well I just put the factory spoiler back on and will call my dealer tomorrow. But with my small town dealer it may be weeks before i can get this resolved.
