Light on in my dash

The light on in my dash looks like my water level light is on but I am full of coolant. Could this mean something else like my water pump is going out. I only have 80000 miles on the car. Any suggestions.

A little more info would help.

I had a '97 Grand Am with the same problem. I don't remember if I ever figured it out, so I'm not sure why I'm wasting your time with this post...

probably what it is.

when was the last time you serviced your coolant? (drain/refill)? have you bled the system lately?

My 99 z28 (w/96k miles) is doing the exact same thing, and has been for about 8 months. I just ignore it. I was told the sensor on 4th gens are about as reliable as the window motors.

I have the same problem on a 98 z-28. I got the electric hook up off the sensor. How do you take the sensor off? And do you lose any coolant from removing it. It looks about 1/3 of the way down on the radiator. Thanks.
