I deal with an upholstry guy that has been doing it for over 35years and he has been approached by several dealers on this already. He said it's definitely because the way it curves and itll be very hard to remedy for the long term. Just the shape will cause it to do this. As an upholstry guy he said wrapping any material over that kind of contour is a cardinal NONO lol.

Well, stopped by the dealer today, looks like dash is getting replaced. Going to take a week or so for the new dash to make it in.

Might want to get a windshield shade so it doesn't happen again!

my car has barely seen daylight, and stays in the garage, plus 5% window tint. sunlight definitely isnt the culprit here.

Wow. Weird. Guess it is the curvature then.

I'd be afraid it'd just happen again :(

i do thinks its the curvature as well. I am sure its going to be a repeat issue, unless a better fix comes into play. im damn sure not going to have my dash replaced more than once.

I have a very late 2012 model, I have 1200 miles on mine and no issues. Mine is beige, not black, but probably wouldnt make a difference. I live in Louisiana, and its nearly the hottest place in the country lol, plus lots of sun.

Havent experienced this yet, but will be on the lookout now. I also bought a really good sunshade, thats been used for a couple hundred miles, as well as being garage kept. But it still sits outside when im at work

I would definitely keep an eye on it. hopefull you wont have any problems. I just recently noticed mine starting to do this. I probably could have lived with it, but I shouldnt have too.

Last time someone borrowed my car, they claimed it was theirs to impress their family, then drove it like an idiot and got the cops called on them. That someone was my boyfriend-- about to post a whole new thread about that
