There are a couple of threads in the Journal section where people shaved that much weight fairly easily. But again that really wasnt the main point of my post.

imo, until Ford changes the tail end design of the mustang, they'll continue to sell less of them..

The amount of speed carried through a corner does not directly equate to the level of tactile feel, tossability, feedback, balance, and driver enjoyment. And yes, these are all things the average Joe can feel on a spirited run through some winding back roads.

I used to be a mustang guy (see sig). I drove the new 5.0 and it was nice, but overall i liked the features and ride of the SS. Plus, I love the LS based motors.

IMHO, the Camaro 1SS is the best buy in the Pony Car section. Camaro LS if budget is tight.

I too cross shopped the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger. The challenger was out of my price range so that was a easy decision. IMO, I think the challenger looks the best out of all of them. The Mustang was the cheapest out of the three and quickest from what I can feel at least. However, it just doesn't look as good as the Camaro. The Camaro was a good balance between price and looks with decent power. I settled for the Camaro.

I checked them all out too (Camaro SS, Mustang, & SRT8 Challenger) and tho I didn't get to drive a V8 mustang (I had a v6 one for a rental for a few days) to me the camaro handled the best and actually felt smaller and more nimble than the mustang. The mustang felt boaty to me. I actually like the styling on the challenger the best but it just felt too big for a pony car to me. To be honest they are all too big to me for pony cars but that's how cars are now. The camaro had my 2nd favorite styling while the mustang finished last. We checked out a GT500 but my girl can't drive stick so we didn't even test drive it (man it sounded good tho!).
