Trade in Value
Hey guys i'm thinking about trading my 2011 1LT Camaro for a SS soon. Quick question. How much is a good price for my trade? My car has a little over 12,000 miles. I know mods don't increase value at all either but i'm just looking for insight on how much i should be looking for. Kelly's Blue book doesn't seem right at 26,000 lol. They are telling me 20-22k is that right? Seems kinda low. Thanks.

I would say 20,000 to 23,000 would be about right. I got 21,500 for mine with 20,000 miles on it with a rear spoiler and non RS.

First off you always go with Good not Excellent. You never get Excellent when you trade, I don't care how good the car looks. That takes you down to around $24375. Used car values are up across the board and are as good as they'll ever be right now. So there you go, you shouldn't have any trouble getting Blue Book on a trade.

Probably 23k to 24k. Camaros are holding value really well.

Your trade is worth what you paid (do not include tax and license) less 10 to 20% for first year depreciation.
The value of your trade also depends on what you pay for the SS. If you pay MSRP for the new car, the trade is worth more. If you pay invoice for the new SS, your trade is worth less. Either way, the first year of car ownership is the most expensive due to the depreciation. How about trading your '11 for a used 2010 SS? Last edited by upflying; 06-11-2011 at 08:41 AM. |

Assuming your state has sales tax you will get a sales tax benefit. You will only have to pay sales tax on the difference between the new and the old car prices, which is a benefit to factor in.

I'm impressed with how well they're holding value thus far, but I suspect this wont last long. They are new and everybody wants one but they are also flooding the hell out of the roads and will likely start declining before long. Trade in soon if you're gonna. Just my guess, if anyone disagrees I'll be out back ready for a flogging.

Fork over $3700 for a $35,000 car. I am sure it is much worse for our Canadian members. |

keep in mind some used camaro's are going for the same price as new ones, hence why I got my 2ss new because used was the same price with 10,000 miles on it
