So many new unsold camaros.

While visiting relatives out of state (not Ct) we stopped by a large Chevrolet dealer Monday to check out the new SUV's.
Parked outside were at least 20 new Camaros including 4 or 5 NEW unsold 2011 Camaros.
I was suprised to see so many new 2011's unsold.
Just wondering if GM is pumping out more Camaros than they can sell ?
From the looks of this dealer it must be a buyers maket for new Camaros at this point in time.

Location, or maybe that dealer is hard to deal with?

Overall, sales are good. That's just one dealership. Hardly a broad enough of an example to draw any conclusions from.

I saw a thread in one of the other sections here, where they talked about exactly that...the in-the-know guys said projections for sales are going down...things won't pick up again til later in the year...not just camaro's, but all makes...

We have a lot of camaros sitting around here too. I could get a very good deal on a 2011 if I wanted one.

I read some where that there is a 130 day supply of Camaro's and Corvettes have a 160 day supply. A good number is 30-45 days.

Could be high gas prices and the mistaken perception among consumers the Camaro is not economical. The market for "sporty cars" is focused to a certain type of buyer. Those who wanted a Camaro probably has one by now. Sales have cooled as demand subsides.

There is a local dealer near me with 95 Camaros in stock on the lot...another one 10 minutes from that one that has 50 Camaros in stock on the lot. Demand is dwindling. Welcome to an election year.

Prices sure don't reflect there being a need to sell them anytime soon. Try and find a used 2011 2ss/rs under $31,000 <<

I noticed that about Texas in general. You guys have a huge supply of new camaros including ZL1's that are sitting on the lot. There's at least 10 to 15 (ZL1) just in Houston when I searched through Auto Trader last week.

You don't need to when you can buy new 2011s at very good prices. The used car market is booming right now.

I'm sure it is just the dealership being hard to work with. At one of my local dealers, there is still a new 2010 on the lot that he still won't sell for under MSRP.

That is what an idiot dealer gets. So let him continue to admire the Camaro on his lot, and continue to carry interest expense.
