Exclamation Car won't move

My car won't move, it turns on but whenever I try to put it in drive or reverse it doesn't move. Has this happened to anyone?

Sounds like the computers need to be reprogrammed. That happened to me when I replaced my transmission.

Probably not.

If it was just reverse that you're being locked out of I would say its the reverse solenoid - which there is a TSB for. Extremely easy fix, just replace the fuse.

But because you said you're locked out of drive and reverse that's ruled out.

Damn, I really wanted a dipstick.

Just trying to help OP since a lack of fluid will keep it from going in gear...sorry for not double checking the presence of a dip stick first...

Do you even feel the trans engage into reverse and drive? If so maybe there is something wrong with the rear. Will the car drift back or forth when in nuetral?

This has happened to me.
The linkage became disconnected at the transmission. There is a 4 cent clip that fastens the linkage to the transmission shifter arm . This may be the problem. You will need to jack the car up to get under it to push it back on. I haven't had the problem since.
