gen5 camaro vs.gen 6 camaro

ive owned my 2015 RS for a couple of months.right now its back at the dealers getting the TPMS fixed,so ive been driving the gen 6.heres my thoughts on comparing the two.styling:5th gen wins IMO.driving the two the 5th gen feels like an old school 70s SS chevelle(weight, size, etc.similiar) thats been to charm school and learned to be civilized beyond our wildest dreams. sight line to the right front fender is compromised a little by the cowl hood but im willing to pay that price for style.the gen 6 on the other hand has better front visibilty and reminds me in a lot of ways of a 2004 vette.i feel like im sitting lower and the car feels lighter, more like a sports car than the 5th gen.i dont really care as much for the 6th gen body style ,the hood lines are busier from the front view, but i am impressed by the way it rides and drives.

turbo 4,base model.im thinking either the 6 or 8,with RS or SS package would only feel more vette-like.

i drove a 6th gen v6 for a day.

pro's: interior design is nicer, still plain and could use work with different materials maybe, but lot better direction. the guages, the options and such were all great. Gas mileage was better than expected compared to 5th gen v6 we previously owned. i was getting 21ish-26 hwy, the 6th gen got 32-34 hwy uphill. power seemed noticeable, although hard to tell if it was more power or less weight.

cons: interior felt cramped. back seats do not accommodate as well as 5th gen in terms of height (i'm 5'8 and my head touched the headliner. obviously the leg space is still a joke, no complains here. The body style isn't as nice to look at in my opinion, i feel the 5th gen styling is way nicer, this as mentioned is an opinion. i'm not calling the 6th gen ugly by any means, i still like it, just not enough to convince me to give up my 5th gen.

basic analysis, not very in depth, but yeah was pretty cool to use one for the day. id be interested in trying out the new ZL1, but couldn't even imagine trading in our SS for a 6th gen ZL1 even based off the numbers, price and styling.

<----I own both. Two completely different cars from all aspects. They both have their pluses and minuses. I find the interior of the 5th gen a little more accommodating for me as it's a little larger all around. The 6th gen definitely has a more 'refined' feel but that can be good or bad depending on what you want out of your ride.

I traded in my 14 SS for my 16 SS. Never looked back!! Completely different machine in all the good ways. Yes the back seats are useless but I don't need them as I am single lol.

There you go bragging again!!! You need to bring the 5th Gen out and spank James ONESWEETZ06 in his 2016 Camaro SS 8 speed with headers no mufflers and spray. He swears he has run in the 6s in the 1/8th at ShowTime..

it kept showing"service TPMS" and dropping one or two of the tire pressure sensor readings, then whenever it felt ready the light would go off and it would work fine.im guessing "intermittant failure" would be a good description.dealer rerouted the door lock wires last week,so far so good.so if this is the problem youre having its like 1.2 billable hours at the dealer if you are out of warrantee,or free under warrantee but they will first check your sensors, etc. before they do it under warrantee.it would have been fixed sooner but i was too busy enjoying the car to give it up for a couple of days.

He is the only person I know who has beat everyone and half the people he claims to have beat don't ever remember racing him.

Still prefer my 5th gen over a 6th . 6th feels more of a sports car then old school like 5th gen. If you are looking for more a sports car then 6th gen win. Also just do not get why GM put back seats in the 6th gen. They are as useful as when I owned a 66 MGB and put a seat belt in the back over the battery. You could put some one back there but actually fitting was a concept more then reality.

thats very true, but camaros have traditionally had back seats.i wonder if theres a market for a fiberglass piece to cover the pass thru hole when the rear seat is folded down, kind of like a GT 350 rear seat delete.
