AfterMarket X-members
Does anybody know of a company that makes aftermarket cross members for the 2010 SS Camaro. I had the SLP complete exhaust system installed and there is no way to install the cross member without it making contact with the pipes. I need a cross member that will give me clearance of approx. 1/2-3/4 in.
I presently have it off the car and don't want to drive without it. Even though the original member is thin I'm sure it provides some support or they wouldn't have it there. |

Barton has one as well as a few others. The OEM piece is thin but it's a lateral load so thickness doesn't really mean much.

My suggestion is to loosen the entire exhaust system and then install the cross-piece...
Then go ahead and set a spacer of 1/2 - 3/4 inch on the cross-piece under the pipes... then tighten everything down starting at the front of the car. thsi has happened on tons of cars, and this is the way I fix it here at my shop. Has worked every time!! |
