Removal of Dealer Tag

I know I have seen this before but anyone have quick and easy way to get rid of the dealer tag?

I think I can get it off with fishing line but what do I use to get rid of the adhesive left behind?

Thanks!

A little WD-40 on a soft cloth will take care of the residue, wash and re-wax the area.

removed many over the years this is the best way. Just don't let it run onto the emblems you want to keep.

Actually, 3M makes a "super trim adhesive remover" that works for sticky stuff. I use it all the time for removing bug splatters.

A six inch grinder works pretty good on them.

Use fishing line like some have posted or I have even seen a rag used by my dealer when I told the to remove it if your talking about the hard plastic kind. If it's just vinyl, peel it off and use some adhesive remover to get the sticky crap off.

Hmmm air-chizzle, jack hammer, air cutter Just make sure you cut between the lines.

JK I really recommend using a heat gun or a blow dryer for both vinyl and the plastic ones just make sure the surface around it is clear of small dirt which can scratch the paint when removing the dealer tag

Use a hair dryer to heat up the decal than peel it off slowly (heat & peel a couple of inches at a time)...any residule adhesive comes off easily with a little WD-40. Works every time!

Make the dealer take it off. I did.

...unless I misunderstood what you meant by annoying "ass vinyl" ?

The one my dealer put on is plastic but it is so thin you cannot get a peace of fishing line or dental floss behind it. When I test drove the car, it was not on but when they detailed it for me it came back with the sticker on the trunk lid.
