...shopping for a car...

I am upping my standards. But this time around, my wife wants it to be an automatic (she wants to drive also).
And this is what I found:

2012 1LT; V6; Automatic Transmission; Paddle shifters; 30,500 miles; red paint; powered sunroof; cloth seats in very good condition; alloy wheels; high performance tires with lots of tread; rear spoiler; digital compass; CD player (something I need); traction control. $18,000 off the lot.

Could probably get one much cheaper, especially a V6. That is, if price is the main factor.
If not, up your standards even more and find a 2010 SS for $22k ish

Brother I just wanted to throw it out there you should consider looking at a 6 gen V6 I seen that you have a RT Challenger as your second vehicle and I'm sure you enjoy that the 6th gen V6 will do 0 to 60 and 5.1 seconds the exact same time is that Challenger RT you have so you would have two cars through equally as fast but totally different animals. The 6 Gen handles like it's on Rails it will blow your mind the way it handles

I also throw this because I see you're looking for a V6 in your current driver and the V6 in the 6th gen is a whole new animal that needs to be driven to be understood

Just something else to consider not that there's anything wrong with the fifth gen Camaro they're absolutely awesome machines but the 6th gen is pretty awesome too

Learn from my mistake. I was in the same boat, thought to myself the 6 has plenty of power. 13 months later I now drive an SS.

$18k for a 1lt seems a bit steep if you ask me. I had the 5th gen v6, yes it was nice and it was good on gas but in the end I now have an SS.

+1 for 5th gen v8 or 6th gen v6

Get the V8. And teach her how to drive a stick! "Now honey, just wrap your fingers around that protruding knob, and hold on tight."

Just for comparison, I got my 2014 LT2 RS V6, GM certified with 20k miles for $20,400 back in April. So I think you are still on the high side...

At the risk of turning this into a V6 / V8 thread, sure a V8 would be cool - if someone could just point me to the free money machine, I will be on my way. I rarely get to open up the V6 around here as it is with traffic and revenue agents watching...
