Anyone who makes fun of nitrous or calls it ricey is kind of stupid so I wouldn't worry much about what they say. If it works for you then nitrous is an awesome power adder without adding any strain on parts when not in use.
It's addictive and can be dangerous if done poorly though. |

I've had nitrous on several cars and installed many kits on other cars. If you get a kit from nitrous outlet or Harris speed you will have nothing to worry about. They are very safe and have specific experience. I have nitrous on my race car and it is not a "kit" but I am very familiar with nitrous and my parts are set up at the fuel pressure I run. Even though Zex has a kit for our car I'd still use another brand.

In my mind, which is vast and empty much like the desert I live in.... Nitrous is only for racing. If you have it set up for the 1/4 mile hell yeah! Otherwise, why have it? If you want power for everyday driving go sc or turbo. If I had a dollar for every neon or civic that vented its Nitrous next to me on the street I'd be a tensdollaraire.

I dont think its any different than the other power adders. If its setup correctly you should have many fun years with the system.

How long have you had it?
I know I have to get a tune, but I've always been a DIY guy and I was thinking about installing it myself, do you think its doable for one guy in his garage?

Nitrous is the hardest thing you can do to an engine. The shock and force of it is tremendous and takes the most out of the engine than all the power adders.
That being said it can be exhilarating and done correctly can be very safe as well. We/HKE build nitrous engine all the time and have some with close to 100,000 miles on them and over 300 track passes with a 250 shot so like anything done correctly can be just as safe and reliable. |

Nitrous oxide is super fun... no hangover, i hear dentists love it....
as for cars, the only thing dangerous about it is the difficulty in mamaging the air/fuel ratio under injection... keep that under control & NOS is great fun... |

Couple of our customers. If these guys are rice, I would gladly be called that. There are a lot of options when it comes to nitrous. We can setup systems with as many customs options as you would like. Here is a billet switch panel we make specific to the 2010. http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/install...stall.asp?id=9 Here is a link to the complete install we did on Dave's 2010. If you like any help with getting some information about nitrous as a whole or specifically on your platform please let me know. Happy to help. Quote:
The "tremendous shock and force" is so great that we spray stock ls motors over 200hp worth daily. Also being that our audience here is street car's by a vast majority. Would you like to compare the internal wear on a stock bottom end with Nitrous vs a blower on a daily driven car? I would say that a bad tune up ON ANY POWER ADDER is the worth thing you can do to an engine. |

When somebody says "Bottles are for babies"....................
The correct response is "This baby is about to whoop your ass!!"
