The only thing I would have done differently - had I not been cost concerned - would have been to get leather seats. Else, bought the absolute base model car. Added foglights and SS Rims & CAI Inductions Intake - there's enough go juice to have fun.
Doesn't sound like a cammed LS1 - by any stretch - but it's a blast.

When I started looking, I was going for an SS but as a daily driver it was not practical, I had not driven a LT yet but once I did....I decided I wanted a 2LT.

I do not regret the decision at all, I have a 2LT RS loaded hartop and love it!

and besides, it's great in the snow with decent tires!

Ya Baby!

Yes after taxes it saved us ten grand. Did not want to spend that for another 100 horses we would not need. When we go on rides with other CAMARO'S it is great to only fill up 1/2 as often. If you order the beige interior you get a 2 tone for no additional cost with black carpets.

Right right right....

As I said earlier I had a 2SS/RS 8CYL and loved the car. I can afford another 2SS or even a ZL1, but I can't justify the cost. The price difference between a 6 and 8 is easily $10k, and the ZL is what another $20k? Yikes. I feel like I would be spending a fortune for nothing more than bragging rights. It can't see it being worth the price for a little extra speed, but alot of extra gas, insurance, wear & tear.

At the same time I love the creature comforts. I want leather, halos, HUD, foot massager, you name it.

I suppose the resale value on an 8 would be higher, but then again maybe not.

Thanks everyone for your opinions! This thread has helped alot.

Hey man the v6 is good but if you already had the 8, I would say wait for a solid deal on a loaded SS. I wouldn't be able to go from v8 to v6. And to be completely honest. The savings in gas won't be that much different

I too was going to go with a fully loaded 2LT simply to save on the cost of fuel. Then my wife suggested I should get whatever I would be MOST happy with and she was right. I rarely "get into it" but when I do it's such a rush in more ways than one.

Get what you can afford but also what you will be happy with for years down the road.

Ya your right,I regret buying a ZL1.......Since they brought out the Copo!

Actually Steve, with the government's interference on their disapointment on production of "V8 gas guzzlers", I wasn't sure how long V8's would be around; hence my decision on the V8.

Now the talk (rumors) is 6cyl turbos for muscle cars; don't get me wrong the technology will get the high HP, but not the same way. It's like running a NASCAR race with restricter plates to slow the cars down.

Went for a drive in the afternoon, with a local buddy of mine, and was too late to make it down to the show.
